    Germany COVID-19 travel restrictions

    • Entry is partially open
      Entry to Germany is allowed for travelers arriving from the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland. Germany also allows unrestricted entry from non-EU member sate such as Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macao, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan.

      Entry from any other country for any purpose (including visits and tourism) is only possible for fully vaccinated People. Non vaccinated travelers may only be allowed to enter in exceptional cases and urgent needs.
      Prior to arrival requirements
      Valid passport. Valid national passport with at least 6 month remaining validity after the date of departure.
      Valid visa. Please see the instructions above if visa is needed and apply.
      Negative COVID-19 test. Anyone arriving to Germany is required to present a negative PCR , no older than 48 hours. When arriving from an area of virus variant of concern, the swab must be taken no more than 24 hours (antigen test) or 72 hours (PCR test) before entering Germany.
      📝Health form registration is required for Travelers who have visited a high-risk area or area of variant of concern in the last ten days must have a digital registration before arriving in Germany and carry proof of registration with them upon entry.
      Upon arrival restrictions
      🏠Quarantine. Anyone arriving to Germany from a high-risk area will be required to self-quarantine for 10 days. Quarantine ends automatically if the relevant country is no longe classified as a high risk area or area of variant of concern.

      The requirement to quarantine applies to arrivals from high-risk areas until proof of full vaccination, recovery from an infection or a negative test result is submitted via the entry portal of the Federal Republic of Germany. The quarantine period may be ended on the basis of a negative test carried out no earlier than five days after entry.

      For children under the age of six quarantine ends automatically after 5 days.
