All travelers will need a PCR negative report, which has been taken 72 hours before departure.

If you arrive by cruise ship, the visa is usually handled onboard the ship for you. If you arrive by air (as when you are taking a river cruise), you can procure an electronic visa online with us before you arrive.

Single-entry tourist visa on arrival up to 30 days can be obtained in order to visit Egypt.

Egyptian work visas are not issued in the United States. Applicants who wish to apply and work in Egypt must apply for a business visa beforehand and go to Egypt to apply for the work visa there. The visa is issued by the Ministry of Labor in Egypt and you should contact your sponsor/company in Egypt and have them make the necessary arrangements with the government.

Single-entry tourist visa on arrival up to 30 days can be obtained in order to visit Egypt.

Nationals of United States of America travelling to Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba and Taba resorts only, for a maximum of 15 days, do not require a visa prior to travelling as a free entry permission stamp will be granted upon arrival. If they intend to travel outside of the above mentioned areas they must obtain a Visa.

and provide digital copies of the following documents:
  • Visa application form. Fully completed and signed application form.

  • Original passport. The passport must be valid at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the destination country and has at least 2 blank visa pages.

  • Passport-type photograph. Include 3 passport style photos, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months. You may also choose to upload a photo to your order for us to print. There is a charge associated with this service.

  • Itinerary. A copy of round trip tickets or detailed itinerary for the duration of the trip. The applicant's name must be on itinerary.

  • Business Support Letter. A support letter from the sending company which introduces the applicant, states the nature of the trip, and specifies the type and desired validity of the visa,where it is specified that the reason for the stay is exclusively for business, commercial negotiations, etc

  • Visa application form. Fully completed and signed application form.

  • Original passport. The passport must be valid at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the destination country and has at least 2 blank visa pages.

  • State Department Letter. A letter from the US Department of State addressed to the "Embassy of Egypt, Washington D.C. ", giving a detailed description of the purpose of travel, the names and addresses of any organizations to be visited, and the dates of the trip. The letter must contain the applicant's name and the passport number and should have a statement confirming that the US Embassy in Egypt will take full responsibility for the applicant.

  • Visa application form. Fully completed and signed application form. The Egyptian Embassy requires 2 original and signed copies of the application form. Please ensure your employment information is filled out in the section ‘Other information’ on page 2 of the application.

  • Original passport. The passport must be valid at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the destination country and has at least 2 blank visa pages.

Egypt COVID-19 travel restrictions

  • Entry is open
    Egypt has opened its airports, while land borders are partially open, and many domestic restrictions are lifted. Fully vaccinated travelers can enter without PCR test.

    Duo to the Covid-19 Omicron variant, traveling from the following countries is suspended: South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Eswatini, and Namibia.
    Prior to arrival requirements
    Valid passport. Valid national passport with at least 6 month remaining validity after the date of departure.
    Valid visa. Please see the instructions above if visa is needed and apply.
    Negative COVID-19 test: All arrivals will be required to present a negative PCR test, no older than 72 hours, depending on origin. A proof of health insurance must also be shown.

    Arrivals who have been fully vaccinated may present a vaccination certificate instead of a PCR test.
