A visa is required for this destination.

Travelers must receive a visa on arrival with an Invitation Letter from the Ministry of Interior, obtained by the host in Kuwait.

If traveling to Kuwait to visit family, the inviting party must obtain approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait. The traveler must bring a copy of this approval letter when entering Kuwait and obtain visa on arrival.

  • Original passport. The passport must be valid at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the destination country and has at least 2 blank visa pages.

  • Visa application form. Fully completed and signed application form.

  • Original passport. The passport must be valid at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the destination country and has at least 2 blank visa pages.

  • Passport-type photograph. Include 2 passport style photos, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months. You may also choose to upload a photo to your order for us to print. There is a charge associated with this service.

  • Proof of status. Copy of Green Card (both sides) or other proof of legal status in the US (such as copy of I-20, US visa, H1B approval notice, etc.) In case the applicant is an F1 or H1B US visa holder, a copy of the I-94 (the I-94 is a document stapled to the passport) is required.

  • No Israeli Stamps. Passport must not contain any evidence of prior or intended travel to Israel.

  • Medical Certificate. Obtained from the local doctor certifying that the patient is in good health and free from contagious diseases. Lab test results for the following: Hepatitis B & C, Malaria, Filariasis, Syphilis and Chest X-Ray for Tuberculosis.

  • HIV Test. A copy of recent HIV blood test results performed within the last 3 months. Must be from the Kuwait, include applicant's name, address of clinic and signature from a doctor or nurse.

  • No Criminal Record. Obtained from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), valid within three months of the issuance date of the Permit. The “No Criminal Record” has to be certified first by the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C., then legalized by the Kuwaiti Embassy.

  • Work permit. A work permit issued by the Department of Labor of the country.

  • Visa application form. Fully completed and signed application form.

  • Original passport. The passport must be valid at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the destination country and has at least 2 blank visa pages.

  • Passport-type photograph. Include 2 passport style photos, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months. You may also choose to upload a photo to your order for us to print. There is a charge associated with this service.

  • Employment contract is required in certain situations (travel for Government contracts). Must be signed by the prospective employer and include the details of employment in Kuwait.

Kuwait COVID-19 travel restrictions

  • Entry is open
    Kuwait is open for travelers, and many domestic restrictions have been lifted.
    Prior to arrival restrictions
    Valid passport. Valid national passport with at least 6 month remaining validity after the date of departure.
    Valid visa. Please see the instructions above if you need visa and apply.
    Negative COVID-19 test taken at most 72 hours before departure. The test result must be issued by an approved laboratory.
    📝Health form: Passengers should install "Shlonik" and "Kuwait-Mosafer" applications on their personal device. Passengers must register online before departure.
    Upon arrival restrictions
    🏠Quarantine. Travelers to Kuwait could be subject to quarantine at a hotel or home for up to 7 days. Passengers who do not have a vaccine certificate need a hotel reservation for at least 7 days.
    😷Masks are required in public spaces and transport.
